Trekking in Morocco is the best way to spend 5 days by foot exploring the villages and mountains of the High Atlas. An excursion among the juniper trees is a perfect way to rejuvenate body and mind.
Day 1: Marrakech – Imlil
We will go Trekking through deep gorges, streams and cherry and walnut tree forests.
Day 2: Tacheddir – Imsker
Transfer from airport or from Marrakech hotel to Imlil. From Imlil (1740 m) walk to Tacheddirt (2300 m) via the Tizi ‘n Tamatert pass (2279 m).
Overnight stay in a local house. During summertime, it is also possible to spend the night in a tent.
4 hour walk approximately.
Today we will walk from Tacheddirt to Imsker (1300m), along the Imnane valley, through the following Berber villages: Ounskra, Tamguiste, Ikkis, Amssakrou and Arg. We will spend the night in a local accommodation or tent.
Day 3: Imsker – Tizi Oussem
From Imsker (1300 m) to Tizi Oussem (1900 m) via Tizi ‘n Lbour (1500 m), ait ali valley, Tizi ‘n Tacht pass (2000m), Ait Aissa village (Azzaden valley).
Overnight stay at Tizi Oussem in a local accommodation.
Day 4: Tizi Oussem – Imlil
From Tizi Oussem (1900 m) to Imlil (1740 m) through the Ighouliden Falls (2400 m) and the Tizi Mzik pass (2450 m). From here we will return to Imlil, where we will stay overnight.
Day 5: Imlil – Marrakech
After breakfast, we will stop at Aroumd to visit this unique village in the Assif Aït Mizane valley, overlooking ancient irrigated terraced barley, corn and vegetables fields, always surrounded by almonds and walnuts trees. We will then continue for another half hour walk to reach the place where we will have lunch. Lunch will be served among a Berber family in the village of Achayn before going up the other side of the valley to Imlil, we will then start our return trip to Marrakech.
